From Discipline
To Holobiont
XIV Festival di Biodiversità
Parco Nord Milano
18 - 27 September 2020
We could say that Parco Nord itself is the best example of human discipline nature: it from a primitive wasteland becomes to factional land to satisfy human, finally becomes a "disciplined urbanism forest." This area has been utilized since 1983, and it has become more and more adapted to the needs of humans and gave political significance. The horse chestnuts in the Parco Nord, which as “victims” and witnesses while the park has been disciplined, they are one of the common street trees also have been disciplined by humans step by step. However they are in danger because of biological invasion, infection: Cameraria Ohridella a kind of insect that spread across the leaves of horse chestnut trees worldwide. They originated in Macedonia and came to Italy in the early 1990s because of global trade and human transportation. Ironically cameraria ohridella doesn’t represent a danger for other plants and for humans, but human kill them for our own benefits.
